Redesign?
So… I thought about redesigning ICanLevitate. I think it was just a matter of me getting bored with the design. Well that and I was getting killed by spam, so I wanted to move to Expression Engine so I could get some CAPTCHA going and stop that. But Spam Karma 2 stopped the spam, hallelujah, so I don’t have a real reason to move to EE anymore. I mean, I love it, and it’s beautiful and easy to code for, but it would also mean trying to relocate all these old posts and I’m not about to do that. Moving comments, etc… *shudder*.
So, ICL is going to stay the way it is for a little while. I’ve found a new personal web project to hold my interest. I’m planning on starting a web comic. Now, this was a venture that I tried to undertake with Josh Robinson at the Forge, but it never really got off the ground. What I want to do this time around is do a web comic that is centered around a couple wrestling fans and has a good deal of wrestling related content. Basically the same way Penny Arcade, Ctl-Alt-Del, VGCats, PvP, etc, etc, etc… deal with video games, Spot Fest (as I’m going to call it) will have a wrestling niche.
Being that it would be the only wrestling web comic around, I really think this could take off. So I’ve got the hosting and the domain, SpotFest.com and I’ve installed EE (booyah!) on the server. Now all that’s left is to start.
We’ll see what happens…
